The river and the national park

At Donji Milanovac the Danube is almost two kilometres wide. Downstream it squeezes through the Kazan Gorge, around 170 metres wide at its narrowest. All around lies Đerdap National Park.

From October to April it is quiet here. That is exactly when a house with its own garden and a view of the water makes sense.

October to April

Autumn

The Danube in autumn.

When the forests on the far bank change colour and the light falls low over the water earlier in the day. Good days for walks in the national park and long evenings on the terrace.

Winter

A quiet place for a few days.

A house of your own with a kitchen and air conditioning, no hotel corridor and no neighbours behind the wall. Outside it is quiet, and the river lies below the garden.

Spring

The first warm days by the river.

Breakfast on the terrace while the garden turns green. A good time for the drive along the river to Lepenski Vir and the Kazan Gorge.

From here

    Đerdap National Park

Donji Milanovac lies in the heart of the national park. Forests, viewpoints and walking trails along the gorge.

  3. Upstream

    Lepenski Vir

One of the most important Mesolithic sites in Europe, with a museum right on the riverbank.

  4. Downstream

    Kazan Gorge

The narrowest point of the Danube. Between steep limestone cliffs the river is only around 170 metres wide here; on the Romanian side it is known as Cazanele Dunării.
